In the days before our lives became so caught up with television and other forms of entertainment, one of the most popular endeavors in the Greek community was putting on plays. In the twenties, thirties, and forties
lots of community members were involved, and they staged some real productions. Some of the early plays put on by our community members were "Golfo," "The Slave," "Barba Leonardos," "Yenoveffe," and "Esme."

Ancient theater, as we know it, began in Greece. The emotions required to portray comedy and tragedy seem to come very easily to the Greek people. Putting on theatrical
productions is a natural for them, and the finished work is highly entertaining.
