SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS
The sons and daughters of our pioneers
planned a series of events to take place
during the 75th year.
The first celebration was a showing of
the film "Eleni" at the Drexel Theater in Bexley on the evening of May 24. The author,
Nicholas Gage (Gatzoyiannis), flew in for a
personal appearance and addressed the group
prior to the showing. The movie is based on
his book, which chronicles the events of his
mother's betrayal and death at the hands of
the communists in Northern Greece in 1949.
Nick Gage has won literary awards for his
brilliance in investigative reporting, and Eleni
is a prime example of his writing gift,
Meeting with Mr. Gage are Mr. and
Mrs. Evangelos Zissis. (Billie Chakeres looks
on.)
