BISHOP MAXIMOS
Father Anthony Sarris, Pastor
Esteemed Parish Council members,
and the beloved parishioners of
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral
536 North Park Street
Columbus, Ohio 43215
Dearly beloved,
Please accept my warm congratulations at the completion of
seventy-five years of Christian parish life and mission in your
community.
As you celebrate this diamond jubilee of your beloved parish,
you certainly remember all the workers of the past and the present, all those dedicated men and women of God who served you so
well, whether as Parish Council and Philoptochos Society members
or as simple parishioners, as clergy or laity, as leaders or followers . . . you have always worked together as family and as a
united Orthodox Christian team, and that is, certainly, the secret
of your success.
You were able not only to keep what was entrusted to you—you
were able to expand and arrive at your present enviable position
of building a beautiful Cathedral, according to our best architectural tradition, on an entire city block! The Cathedral, along
with the facilities surrounding it, will certainly add to the
service you offer to our own constituency, but also to the community at large!
You will offer the best possible gift to your younger generations, a gift for which these generations will bless you.
Your community is known for its pioneering role in service to
our senior citizens, with your beautiful institution of St. George
on the Commons as an example. Your community is known for your
educational programs, the help you have given to such programs at
the Ohio State University. Your community is known for your efforts of reaching out to the community at large.
All of us at the Diocese and Archdiocese are thankful to you
for all the above.
